Wednesday, July 15 (Pre-Conference Workshop Day)

11:00 AM

Modern Band 101

All new teachers are required to attend a ‘pre-conference’ day on July 15th to take the Modern Band 101 workshop.
Attendance requires early arrival. Open only to new teachers who have not previously taken a Modern Band 101 workshop.

Modern Band 102

Trained Little Kids Rock teachers may choose to attend a ‘pre-conference’ day on July 15th to take the Modern Band 102 workshop.
Attendance requires early arrival. Open only to teachers who have taken a Modern Band 101 workshop and who have not previously taken a Modern Band 102 workshop. Requires an additional $60 fee, due at conference registration.

Make music, create art, and get silly with your fellow Summit attendees at our Attendee Welcome Party! Drinks and light snacks will be provided.

Day 1 – Thursday, July 16

9:30 AM

Welcome Keynote

Little Kids Rock CEO & Founder Dave Wish will open the Summit with his annual keynote to get us all in the spirit of learning!

10:30 AM

Teacher-created and led, the breakout sessions are interactive and helpful workshops on cutting edge concepts in modern band education derived from real classroom experience. Space is limited so show up early!

3:45 PM

What’s New in Little Kids Rock Curriculum

Director of Teaching & Learning Scott Burstein will walk us through the newest curricular offerings from Little Kids Rock, how you can implement them in your class, what’s on the horizon, and more.

Get ready for a fun night of drinks, appetizers, and music-making by attendees, courtesy of our friends at the Bohemian Foundation!

Keep the fun going after the Teacher Kickoff Jam! Bring any instruments you want and play some more music, or just come to hang out.

Artist Panel & Breakout Sessions

Join a panel of world-renowned musicians (TBA) for a conversation on their careers, musicianship, and educations, followed by individual breakout sessions from each with Q&A!

12:30 AM

Poster Sessions & Lunch

Refuel with a delicious meal while perusing teacher-submitted posters that line the ballroom with tips, tricks, and new ideas you can take home to your students.

Panels

Enjoy meeting, hanging out with fellow teachers, and playing music out on the town in beautiful Fort Collins. Event details to come.

Closing Keynote

End the conference with a final word of reflection on all the fun, teaching, learning, and music, from Little Kids Rock CEO & Founder Dave Wish.

Band together with fellow attendees in a context of your choosing (previous jam session categories have included Latin drumming, hip hop, tech jam w/iPads, and beginner-advanced modern band) to jam on songs you choose together!

Jump onstage and play a song with friends, throw your hat in the ring with our raffle, or just enjoy dinner and drinks under the Colorado summer sky.

Keep the party going late into the night with one more round of communal music making.

Day 4 – Sunday, July 19 (Community Day)

9:00 AM

Closing Breakfast and Share-Out Session

Start the final day of the Summit with an open discussion on all that’s happened, what we’ve learned, and how we can take it all home to bring more music to more students!

For the first time ever, Day 4 of the Summit will be a special Teacher Community Day, with a variety of rockin’ options to help you deepen your connections with fellow educators, take a well-deserved break, and just have fun!

Choose from several can’t-miss activities, including exploring the amazing Colorado outdoors, experiencing the town of Fort Collins, and simply reflecting on how to bring the Summit spirit home to your students…all with that special Little Kids Rock flare.
