Howard Kerbel

Chief Financial Officer

As our CFO, Howard brings extensive experience from roles in Internal and External Auditing, Risk Management, and Governance in the Financial Services industry, and Board leadership positions for Not-For-Profit organizations.  

Most recently, Howard served as a Special Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., with a focus on Corporate Governance and Project Oversight.  Previously, as a Managing Director, he was the Global Head of Risk Management for the Investor Services line of business and before assuming that role he was the General Auditor for the Firm.  Prior to joining BBH, Howard served in senior internal audit and business process and control roles at Merrill Lynch, Citigroup and Salomon Smith Barney.  Earlier in his career, Howard was an audit partner in the Financial Services Industry Practice of Price Waterhouse in New York.

Howard is a long-time member of the Board of Governors of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, a progressive rabbinical school, and he has served as the Treasurer of that organization since 2013.  Howard is an active member of Bnai Keshet Synagogue in Montclair, New Jersey, and he has served the congregation as Treasurer and Co-President (as well as occasionally as lyricist and keyboard player for various synagogue productions). 

Prior to joining the Little Kids Rock team in April 2019, Howard served on our New York Area Advisory Board and our National Board of Directors, where he served as Treasurer since January 2016.

A CPA with an MBA from Columbia University, Howard’s undergraduate degree is a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
