About the Performers
G. Love proudly describes himself as a road dog who “will be touring until I fall off the earth” and plans to keep on pushing with Special Sauce from stage to stage. Whether his next record makes one dollar or a million isn’t a big concern to him. Anything he releases stands as a huge success because he made a gritty, honest album or track with the intention to “keeping it raw, keeping it immediate, keeping it real.” It’s an approach that he has honed over the years: “be original and be true to what you do."
After earning praise from MTV to Relix for their breakout single "Don’t Ask Me Why," six-piece anthemic indie rockers Great Caesar relocated from Brooklyn to the Hamptons for two months early last year to prepare for their first US tour and to finish writing their follow-up EP, 'Jackson's Big Sky,' which was released on March 25, 2016. Living together in such close quarters proved to be an invaluable experience for the band, both for personal bonding and for their creative output, which was partly inspired by a life-changing performance for more than 100 inmates at the Marion Correctional Institution in Ohio. Recorded with producers Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Vance Joy) and Gary Atturio, the songs on 'Jackson's Big Sky' showcase the band's remarkable growth and maturity in the short time since their debut release, with sophisticated arrangements full of dreamy guitars, lush horns, and infectious melodies.
