Little Kids Rock and Re-Bop Records Sing The Music Education Blues

Non-profit Music Program Receives Proceeds from Re-Bop Records' Latest Release, "Even Kids Get The Blues™"

July 23, 2004 - Nashville, TN (NAMM Summer Session – Booth 2037, Level 2) – Little Kids Rock (LKR), an innovative non-profit music education program, today announced that a portion of the proceeds from Re-Bop Records' (www.reboprecords.com) latest release, "Even Kids Get The Blues™," would be donated to LKR in order to help the organization’s continued effort of restoring music programming in public schools.

The new CD consists of 16 original songs that are designed to introduce children to the dynamic music genre of the blues, and to demonstrate the empowerment of expressing real-life feelings and experiences through music.

The 12 talented kids on this recording are backed by The Unknown Blues Band, whose musicians have played with blues legends such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Etta James, Junior Wells, Howlin' Wolf, Paul Butterfield, and B.B. King. Memphis born R & B diva Sandra Wright and B.B. King alumni Big Joe Burrell are also featured. LKR Honorary Board Member Bonnie Raitt supports the release with a cameo contribution to the title track and this CD jacket quote:

Chief Re-Bop Diana Winn said, “For 15 years, Re-Bop Records has been a creative outlet for kids to compose, sing, play, record, and perform all kinds of music, from folk to reggae and blues to rock. So we are totally delighted to support Little Kids Rock in its mission to establish after-school music education programs, where all children - no matter their financial situation – can develop their natural passion for music!”

"Even Kids Get The Blues™" is $14.98 and available now at www.reboprecords.com or by calling Re-Bop Records toll-free number 1-800-OK-REBOP (1-800-657-3267). The CD can also be purchased through major Internet retailers, such as Amazon.com and CD Baby, and at quality music, book and children's gift stores.

About Little Kids Rock
Little Kids Rock believes that music is a critical component of first-rate education. Many elementary schools have been stripped of their music programs. These cuts have had a disproportionately large impact on children from low-income backgrounds. Little Kids Rock restores music to its rightful place in the academic lives of kids in our public schools by providing a rich music education program including instrument instruction, free instruments and trained mentors. Founded by a single elementary school teacher in 1996, Little Kids Rock is now serving 2,000 students in CA, NY, NJ and TN. Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, BB King and Les Paul sit on our Honorary Board of Directors and we are supported by friends Carlos Santana, Phish, Bob Weir and others. Little Kids Rock programs are scheduled to launch in the Los Angeles area in 2004.
