The Jaime Kibben AwardJaime and Julia
Each year, Little Kids Rock recognizes the work of our most dedicated volunteers by honoring them with the "Jaime Kibben Award."

On January 11th, 2003, Little Kids Rock lost one of our dearest friends and supporters, documentary filmmaker Jaime Kibben. He died in a car crash in Israel. He was on his way back from shooting footage for a documentary about the Israeli Palestinian peace movement. In my last conversation with him, Jaime told me that he was thrilled to have the opportunity to, "...do something about all the bad news coming from that part of the world." For me, Jaime was an inspiration and a roll model. He was one of the most beautiful people that I have ever had the honor of calling my friend. He was a courageous teacher, a peace warrior and a loving father and husband. He gave of himself tirelessly and touched the lives of so many people around him. To honor the memory of our dear friend, Little Kids Rock issues the Jaime Kibben award on an annual basis. It is Little Kids Rock's highest honor and is given to the volunteer whose dedication and energy embody Jaime's own giving spirit and the ideals which Little Kids Rock seeks to embrace.

Jaime, I miss you.
