Photos from Band Together for NYC
IV - April 28, 2005
The LKR benefit concert, "Band
Together for NYC IV" was a huge success! As a result,
hundreds of additional New York City kids will start receiving
free instruments
and lessons from Little Kids Rock. This event was the brainchild
of corporate rockers Bill Bennett and Charles Mangano. They
decided to raise money and donate instruments to public
schools impacted by the events of 9/11. Sadly, Bill Bennett
passed away recently but his charitable efforts on behalf
of NYC kids live on.
This year's headliner was “HIT
SQUAD,” a band
featuring musicians from some of the best-loved acts of
rock ‘n’ roll, including: Ricky Byrd (Joan Jett
and the Blackhearts), Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel), Joe
Lynn Turner (Deep Purple, Rainbow) Richie Cannata (Billy
Joel, Beach Boys) and Will Lee (The David Letterman Band).
Also rocking the house was The Off Wall Street Jam’s
very own “THE ROLLING BONES,” with
Band Together co-founder Charles Mangano, “THE
PROWLERS,” with
Fortune Magazine managing editor Rik Kirkland and Fortune
Small Business Magazine's editorial director, Brian Dumaine
and, for the fourth consecutive year, “THE
DIFFERENCE” from
Air Products, a Fortune 500 company in Allentown, PA. To
all of these musicians, all of our
sponsors and all who
supported the event, we thank you for helping
us put music back where it belongs ... in
our schools!
